Apple Day is on October 27th. The word for apple (사과) also means apology. The idea is that you give your teacher an apple and apologize for your wrong doings and promise to try and be a better student. Side note: I saw every teacher get an apple and letters. None of the students really acted any different from all the previous days… BUT it’s the thought that counts right?? Right?!?
I was happily surprised by being given an apple and a cute letter from a student! It was such a great way to start off the day. I am ashamed to admit that I wasn’t quite sure who the student was the wrote me the note. At least, not until a lot of thought and help from my co-teacher. The girl is sweet, but quite. It’s hard to remember the names of the quiet ones.
Now that I’ve been given an apple, does that mean I’m a real teacher??
